Committee Assignments

Congressman Cole currently serves on the following committees in the U.S. House of Representatives:

Committee on Armed Services: The Armed Services Committee has jurisdiction over the annual defense authorization, which includes funding for operations of the Department of Defense as well as other national security initiatives. Through his work on the committee, Congressman Cole is able to provide input on security issues that affect our nation while remaining up-to-date on issues that will affect military bases, such as Fort Sill, that operate within the Fourth District of Oklahoma. Natural Resources Committee: Congressman Cole has returned to service on the House Natural Resources Committee during the 110th Congress. The committee presides over policy areas such as energy production, Native American affairs, national parks, fish and wildlife services, and many other issues. His work on the committee gives him the unique ability to oversee policy that relates to rich Oklahoma resources such as the Chickasaw National Recreational Area and facilities like the NOAA weather center in Norman.
